Coming from a construction background, Linda Chua saw stepping into the maritime industry as a fresh and exciting challenge. What drew her in was the opportunity to learn and grow in an entirely new environment. For Linda, life is a journey of continuous learning—and her role at Jurong Port offered exactly that.
As a Manager in the Bulk Cargo Commercial Team, Linda oversees a wide range of commercial responsibilities, including addressing tenant concerns, managing financial matters, and exploring strategies to boost revenue. However, her role goes far beyond transactions—it’s deeply rooted in relationship-building. Managing 14 clients, Linda has found tremendous support and guidance from them, with many generously sharing their industry knowledge to help her navigate this new landscape.
One of the most rewarding experiences in her journey so far has been her involvement in the Ready-Mixed Concrete (RMC) Ecosystem. As Singapore’s first of its kind, the RMC Ecosystem presented a unique and exciting challenge. Linda played an integral role in bringing the project to life, engaging with tenants and collaborating with multiple departments—Operations, Technical Services, Digitalisation, MPT Transformation, Finance, Corporate Relations & Communications, and Facilities Management. Witnessing the successful launch of the RMC Ecosystem was a proud and memorable moment.
Reflecting on her journey at Jurong Port, Linda describes it as unexpected, fulfilling, and exciting. What she initially thought would be a transactional role turned out to be far more meaningful. Being a part of the supply chain and contributing to the success of the RMC Ecosystem has given her a strong sense of purpose, knowing that the work she does plays a vital role in the bigger picture.
