Desmond Lim is Chief Corporate Services Officer as of 29 April 2024.

Prior to his current appointment, Desmond served as Chief Corporate Development Officer from Jan 2023 to April 2024, Chief Strategy Officer from April 2019 to December 2022, and as Chief Commercial Officer from October 2015 to March 2019. Desmond played a significant role in expanding Jurong Port’s revenue stream in Projects Logistics Hub and Combi Terminal. As Chief Corporate Services Officer, Desmond oversees Equipment Engineering & Maintenance, Project Management, Facilities Management & Security, in addition to his previous portfolio which included Sustainability & Strategic management, Corporate Communications, Enterprise Risk Management, and Legal & Corporate Secretariat functions. He also holds a directorship in JPUT, one of the largest independent petroleum storage terminals in Asia Pacific owned by Jurong Port Pte Ltd, MAIF Investments Singapore Pte Ltd and PetroChina International (Singapore) Pte Ltd.

Desmond previously served as the Country Managing Director for Panalpina World Transport, Singapore, one of the top five freight forwarders globally. He joined Panalpina in 2011 as the Area Head of Air Freight Southeast Asia. He has a strong commercial and business background, especially negotiating contracts with large multinationals. He was promoted to Country Managing Director Singapore in 2013.

Desmond began his career with Singapore Airlines in 1999 and served in various commercial and planning departments before he rose to the position of Regional Marketing Manager for West Asia and Africa in 2003. In 2005, he was the Executive Assistant to the President and concurrently assumed the Programme Manager role for the WOW Alliance. Desmond also took on several overseas assignments to Atlanta, USA; Bali, Indonesia; and Abu Dhabi, UAE. Desmond was the Head of Global Sales & Distribution before he left to join Panalpina World Transport in 2011.

Desmond earned a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology (First Class Honours) from the National University of Singapore and was placed on the university’s inaugural Vice Chancellor’s List.
