Crane Engineer

The Job

• Responsible to lead the shift team (preventive and service maintenance team), including staff deployment and continuous staff development
  • Conduct OJT, coaching and task evaluation
  • Conduct performance appraisal for shift team members
  • Ensure good communication (verbal and written) is established between all team members
  • Work closely with shift supervisors to ensure handovers between shifts are effectively communicated
  • Collaborate with the team members to problem solve and troubleshoot root causes of problems and apply effective actions to resolve problems in hand
• Maintain and update the OJT task lists and ensure that training task list is updated and current
• Ensure that WSH rules and regulations are adhered to and are in line with the companies’ policies
• Manage and ensure equipment run smoothly for operations
• Ensure maintenance are in line with the company’s quality systems, processes and procedures
• Ensure company resources are used in an effective manner for best-operating costs
• Monitor, measure and report on maintenance related process performance, general issues
• Play an active role in the company’s continuous improvement plan to achieve plans for future growth within the company
• Maintain housekeeping to ensure clean and safe workplace

Job Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field (Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical).
• Thorough knowledge of plant/operations and cost/time required for all types of maintenance work.
• Able to perform shift duties (8 hours rotating shift)
• Minimum 8 years of relevant working experiences in port equipments’ service recovery and preventive maintenance.
• Good communication skills so as to establish positive relationships with operations and maintenance personnel
• Dynamic, energetic, self-driven and results-oriented
• Has a positive “can do” attitude with a clear focus on deliverables.
• Highly organised and logical thinker who critically assesses his/her own performance.
