Located on Jurong Island in Singapore, Jurong Port Universal Terminal Pte Ltd (JPUT) is one of the largest independent petroleum storage terminals in Asia Pacific owned by Jurong Port Pte Ltd, MAIF Investments Singapore Pte Ltd and PetroChina International (Singapore) Pte Ltd.

JPUT is also one of the biggest commercial storage facilities worldwide, occupying 56ha of land at the southern end of Jurong Island in Singapore. The terminal offers 2.33 million cubic meters (m³) of storage capacity and modern berthing facilities, conceptualized from a trader’s perspective with the aim of increasing flexibility and efficiency through providing one-stop services for storage, blending and distribution needs.

STATE-OF-THE-ART FACILITIES

JETTIES

The terminal has a total of 15 jetties capable of multiple grade loading and discharging, including 2 for Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs). The ability to berth 2 fully laden VLCCs simultaneously have proven advantageous to its customers. Each VLCC jetty has the capability to receive cargo at the flow rate of 12,000 m³ per hour maximum, when connected to 4 loading arms concurrently.

INNER BASIN

The terminal’s inner basin has 9 bunker barge berths which are equipped with flow meters and have the capability to load up to 1,000 m³ per hour per hose. With a draft of up to 11 m, the berths in the inner basin can berth vessels of up to 15,000 DWT. Dedicated pumps and pipelines also help to maintain product integrity and achieve operational efficiencies

STORAGE TANKS

Storage facilities comprise of 75 custom-built tanks in 13 tank farms, ranging from 5,000 to 100,000 cubic meters (m³). The terminal provides bulk liquid storage services for a wide range of black and white petroleum products. All tanks are designed in accordance with API650 standards and are equipped with in-tank blending capabilities for optimal versatility and scalability.

PRECISION HANDLING, EFFICIENT
OPERATIONS AND FLEXIBLE
SOLUTIONS

JPUT is the first terminal in Singapore, permitted by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), to deploy its own in-house dockmasters and tugboats to provide assistance in berthing and unberthing of barges in the inner basin. Bunker and fresh water supply are also readily available at all berths as value added features. Customers can take advantage of these services while enjoying maximum cost savings and efficient vessel turnaround time.

QUALITY, SECURITY AND SAFETY CONTROL

The terminal facilities are operated and controlled by an integrated Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system to closely monitor all tanks and systems around the clock. The SCADA system can access real-time data, keep track of product transfers, tank level, pressure, ship loading, and operations of pumps, valves, loading arms and monitor other parameters to handle vessels and storage of varying tonnage quickly, efficiently and safely.

TRUSTED FACILITY OF OIL MAJORS, INTERNATIONAL TRADERS AND BUNKER SUPPLIERS

Jurong Port Universal Terminal plays a vital role in strengthening Singapore’s position as a leading global oil trading and bunkering hub. With its excellent and strategic location and ability to receive tankers of all sizes in its naturally deep-water berths, the terminal is ideally placed to offer regional distribution, transhipment services as well as serve the vibrant bunkering industry in Singapore, reinforcing Singapore’s status as a premier maritime hub.
