This
is a front-end portal to allow customers the ease and
convenience to carry out online electronic transactions.
These include container tracking, berth applications,
vessel scheduling, bookings and listings, among others.
Hyperlinks to government agencies are also being established.
Shipping lines can now enjoy expanded facilities on JP-Online
with a three-way information exchange (Maritime and Port
Authority of Singapore - Jurong Port - PSA Corporation)
of Dangerous Goods (DG). This will streamline the DG approval
process and enhance the Inter-Terminal Haulage transfers
of DG containers between the two Singapore ports. In other
words, customers can shortcut the application of DG details
such as PM4 and enquiry of approval status directly to
JP-Online instead of first having to go through Marinet,
as is the current practice.
On-going discussions are being carried out with shipping
lines to further enhance JP-Online facilities. One feature
is the container activity updates, in which shipping lines
will be able to obtain information such as loading, discharging,
gate in/out container event updates at their fingertips
and in the comfort of their offices.
